The Road Trip

This is what the road trip entailed....tired Dalan, crazy happy Macie, driving Daddy, and crappy food the whole way there and back. There is nothing better than fountain Diet Dr. Pepper, which McDonalds does have and we refilled and refilled and refilled!

Lagoon Time!

We had such a great time this past weekend. We have had a Lagoon trip planned for the entire summer and it finally came....and went way too fast. The kids had a ball, but I think the adults had even funner. It was "WICKED!" Seriously, they have this new ride called Wicked and it was. I was terrified, but it was such a thrill. Briqelle, Macie, and Cali had so much fun playing together and it was so fun to see them interact with one another. There were a few little battles of pushing, MACIE, and hitting, MACIE AGAIN...but all in all Briqelle was there to mother the situation and make sure the girls would work it out.

After the Lagoon day, we were all pretty exhausted so we were planning on laying low on Saturday. We swam at our hotel, rode the TRAX train, and went to the Gateway to shop and eat. It was a great time for everyone and can't wait to do it again next year.

This is this and that is that...

So it has been a very long time since I have blah'ed about nothin...but I seriously haven't had much to say. Okay here goes:

My 2 1/2 year old Macie girl is so sweet, sassy, mean, nice, and suffers from multiple personality syndrome: Lately, I have had it with her. This is my cry for HELP from anyone who has a word of advice from a frustrated mama. Macie has been on this kick where she is hitting and pushing other kids. Not to mention she has slapped me in the face a few times. To be honest, my initial reaction is to get so angry and I wanna hit back, but I refrain...most of the time! I have swatted her butt a few times and she says, "Aaaagghhhh mama....my butt." It breaks my heart and I am trying the Supernanny tactics to do the time-out thing and also the love and logic book teaches about choices. I tell ya what...this 2 year old stage is for sure the hardest so far. HELP ME!

I have been feeling the pants get a little snugger...and the sugar craving just keeps kicking in (I swear by the time 3:00 hits...I am a crazy person searching for chocolate) I have been buying the 100 calorie packs of little cakes so I don't feel quite as guilty...but I have to say I would so rather have a Little Debbie's Brownie and they are only a $1.12 verses $3.59 for less calories. What to do?

Anyway, I have been going to the aerobic classes at the YMCA and LOVE them! I finally signed up for Child Watch where before I was going early at like 7 am. So...the buggy thing is this: I don't get to the gym until 10:00 and don't get home until 11:30-12...there goes half my day. In fact, it is 5:22 and I am still in my workout clothes. What is my deal? I have just been in a funk lately.

Dave has been calling me Eor (spelling) from "Winnie the Pooh" ya know his famous line...."Thanks for noticin." I have to laugh, but it is so true. I guess with the whole potty training bit (success!) switching Dalan to milk and off a bottle to a sippy cup, taking the rails down off Macie's big girl bed (and having her fall out a few times) has left me in a funk that I am dying to get out of.

We are heading out this week for a much needed family vacation to SLC. My family will meet us up there to do the Lagoon thing. I am not sure if you know how excited I am about this! I really need a rollercoaster ride...a real one!

Anyway, life goes on and I keep trying to remember to take it one day at a time.

Good Food, Good Friends, Good Fun

We had so many of our friends there to celebrate Dalan's special day. I am not sure if people came to just take a night off of cooking dinner and knowing that dessert was included...but we were so appreciative to all those who came. Thanks everyone and we love you all! The only bummer is that we missed our family who are stuck in St. George, Salt Lake, and Las Vegas!!

Present Time!

Good Grief...I specifically told people, "No Gifts!" Thanks everyone...and especially thanks for all the noisy ones, including the guitar that he loves. He is one spoiled little thing!

The Cake Fest

Dalan did not let us down for this one! He had his eye on the prize and totally went for it. Thank goodness it was chocolate...way to start him out on sugar right! By the end of his cakers...he was a messers! We bathed him in the sink so we could get to the presents! Too funny!

Happy 1st Birthday Buddy Boy!

WOW! I cannot believe that my baby is a one year old...it is so true how fast it goes. I have reflected back to this day one year ago when I was in a hospital bed, or waiting room, not sure which, and gave birth in 7 minutes to this little treasure. No lie. I remember thinking, "I am never doing this again" because I did not have the chance to get the so much needed and wanted epideral. Gosh. I think he has truly been the best baby EVER. He is so content and has always been such a sweetie. He adores his big sister Macie. Even though she loves to take toys and pick fights with him, she is the one that can make him laugh the hardest. I keep thinking now that he is one, that means we have been in Idaho for a year. Seriously. Where did this past year go? Macie has always called him "Daba" and that has kinda stuck. Happy birthday Dab's!
